RI 2025 Climate Action Youth Art Challenge

The Rhode Island Executive Climate Change Coordinating Council (EC4) is updating the state climate action strategy, a plan that guides all efforts to decrease the use of fossil fuels in the Ocean State. At the end of 2025, the EC4 will release the plan which will include ideas for increasing the use of renewable energy, reducing vehicle use, protecting nature, and supporting communities.

We need young artists to help! Through March 31, 2025, the EC4 invites you to submit your artwork to connect young Rhode Islanders to climate action.

Selected artists will have their work included in the print and web versions of the 2025 Rhode Island climate action strategy, as well as on the state climate change website and social media channels.

To enter, create an original piece of art connected to one of the following themes:

1) Climate solutions, including clean and renewable energy, green schools, clean transportation, and protecting/conserving Rhode Island's environment. Which solutions give you hope? What should we do in Rhode Island?

2) Resilient Rhody: what would your community look like if it were prepared to recover from climate impacts like flooding, drought, and sea-level rise?

3) A vision for Rhode Island's climate future: when you picture Rhode Island 25 years from now, thriving in spite of climate change, what do you see? What does your future Rhode Island look like?
